Steps to Send Email on Status Change

If it is your first time adding custom code, please take a full backup of your site. This will help you revert to the previous version if you encounter any challenges.

We will be creating a custom email for the “Refused” status:

Here are the steps you need to follow:

  1. Log into your WordPress site and access the Dashboard as the admin user.
  2. From the Dashboard menu, click on Appearance Menu > Theme Editor Menu. When the Theme Editor page is opened, look for the theme functions file where we will add the function that will send a custom email on status change.
  3. Add the following code to the php file:

    // You have to use the email ID chosen above and also that $order->get_status() == "refused"


After adding this code, custom emails will be sent on status change. Remember to use your custom order status name in the code.
